The Martini Flight (Sunday)

The martini flight was great fun because the bartender put on quite a show preparing them.

First he lined up the glasses in front of us on upturned glasses of different heights (see photo).

Then he mixed the drinks in six different shakers and stacked the shakers inside each other so that he could pick them all up. He climbed up onto the bar so he could pour all the martini at once (see photo).

He did this several times while we were there, so we got to enjoy it over again. One couple ordered 2 flights and he poured all 12 at once!

The martini bar has an "ice bar." Basically, it's a metal top that's refrigerated so that it's frosty on the top. I guess that's supposed to keep your drink cold, but the martini glasses all have stems, so I'm not sure it works that well. But you could write or draw things in the frost on the bar top.

We enjoyed getting to taste the martinis, but the classic martini with olives is really my favorite.
